Challenge
Marathons were never made for women. Not the facilities. Not the training guides. Not even the gear. There was very little institutional support in such an institutional sport. Recognizing this disparity, GALE has been working with Milk over the past couple of years to promote and sponsor women in athletics, running specifically. In 2024 we went further and I was brought on the team to help make Every Woman’s Marathon: the first marathon created by women, for women and powered by 26.2 Team Milk.
Solution
First partnering with Yung studios to bring the brand identity to life, I provided art direction for a vibrant, energetic, and dynamic identity. Once approved, I was a design lead on the website, email design system, as well as the event merch and apparel.

Custom Merch
Physical merch included for the race a custom sneaker which was produced by the race’s Apparel partner Rabbit, and a beautiful medal with a crystal inlay.
Email Design System
A CRM system was also created to look cohesive with the web design, making use of the pathway animations and bold colors to draw the eye and grab interest right away.
Launch Video
To erect a race for women by women we partnered with running icon Kathrine Switzer, the first woman to complete the Boston Marathon in 1967, to design a more supportive course, training program, and nutrition guidance. The race was announced to the world by America’s poet laureate Amanda Gorman, whose powerful manifesto shared more than just what the race was about, but why it was so important.
Photography Art Direction
For the launch of the marathon we executed a photoshoot in Savannah featuring a diverse group of female athletes. We worked with Photographer Caroline Tompkins to capture the images.
