A Wicked Problem is a problem that is very difficult or impossible to solve because of incomplete, contradictory, and changing requirements that are often difficult to recognize. Some examples include poverty, environmental damage, and education. It is no easy feat so solve a wicked problem because it can’t be solved with one solution alone.

UX methodologies and a systematic approach to design can be used to solve some of the world’s toughest problems. This approach ensures that solutions are explored outside of the adjacent possible, through the process of qualitative and quantitative research, empathy mapping, and exploring possible solutions through divergence and convergence.
